Business Administration

The Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration is the basis of the German-Chinese collaborative study programmes. After 3 years, students obtain a binational degree, the Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from FOM and the Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the Chinese partner university. The combination of the two degrees according to German and Chinese standards prepares graduates for managerial responsibilities in internationally active companies.

To qualify for admission to study at FOM, applicants require a higher education entrance qualification and they must complete a 12-month German language course. After successfully completing this course, students then begin their binational degree which is taught jointly by FOM and the Chinese cooperation universities. The four-semester foundation course is followed by academic training in Germany at FOM's study centre in Essen. The Bachelor thesis is written in Germany.

The Business Administration course combines a foundation course in business administration with a strong practical and application orientation. All areas of company management are introduced briefly in the basic course and studied in greater depth in the specialisation programme in the modules Marketing & Sales, Finance, Company Accounting and Management. In addition to a knowledge of the subject, graduates are proficient in German and acquire intercultural experience.

You will complete your bachelor studies in Business Administration with the academic degree of Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).

Accreditation (Bachelor)

The FOM University of Applied Sciences is accredited by the German Council for Science and Humanities for its special service to education and research and was the first private university in Germany to receive system-accreditation by the FIBAA in 2012. This seal of approval proves that the quality management of the FOM University meets the high standards of the Accreditation Council, the most important body for the quality of studies and education at German universities. In 2018 the FOM University received system-accreditation for further eight years. Thus, all courses of study offered by the FOM are accredited. A bachelor's degree from the FOM University of Applied Sciences generally also qualifies students for a further master's degree and subsequently a PhD programme.
